Controlled language
Controlled language is technical writing, for instruction manuals and the like, written according to strict rules and with a deliberately limited vocabulary. The aim is to eliminate ambiguity, by ensuring that the message is simple and direct. It has been consistently shown that source documents written in controlled language are easier to process when using memory-based translation tools, or machine translation.
